Hey everybody. I'm brand new to the F150 forum, and I just got my new Tuxedo Black 2014 4door XLT EcoBoost with chrome package about 2 weeks ago. I used to have a 2010 Jeep Wrangler JKU, and I was active on WranglerForum, so I'm somewhat familiar with how the forum works. Because I'm a former Jeep owner, I'm already looking for mods to do to my F150. I want to keep it simple and preserve the truck's fuel efficiency and acceleration, but I think I want to lower level the rear end about 2" and put some stock 20" F150 Platinum rims on it. Also, I want to make as many practical engine upgrades as possible (CAI, maybe a chip, etc.), so I'd love some advice on what improvements will make my truck the fastest without breaking the bank. I look forward to loving my new F150 as much as the rest of you!

Welcome to the forum. I'd recommend the Gatekeeper or similar first so you can keep your tailgate.

Then many like the DeeZee tailgate assist.

I also added a tailgate lock servo so I can lock/unlock it with the remote.
There are several.

You can also buy the servo separately on ebay and do it yourself.

As far as CAI the folks here have proved that they do not add HP or MPG. Just noise. Same for exhaust.

Tuners are another story and there are plenty of threads for that.

Thanks man! I would never have thought to get a tailgate lock. I always just locked and unlocked my tailgate, which was an inconvenience.

Wish my yard looked like that we are getting a foot of snowtoday. Ugh.

You will love your new truck! May even get better mpg than your Jeep?

Keeping in line with simple and inexpensive... stubbie antenna from cravenspeed. Simple $25 part that helps increase HP and torque, so I hear lol

I second the Pop & Lock. I installed mine thinking it would be cool to have, but have enjoyed quickly unlocking it to secure random odds and ends from the cab.

Personally, I would save up and do the Full Race I/C and Tial Q valve. Pretty easy install and great company to work with if you have questions.

Haha south Louisiana weather is nice most of the year! I love my truck so far. It's a lot smoother and faster than the Jeep, and it does get about 3mpg more than my Jeep!

Excuse my ignorance, but what are the stubbie antenna and Tial Q valve?
