I deal with one of the Jones dealer ships they know my name and yes I have to make an appointment but when I get there it goes right in the shop And if requires a part to be ordered they will order part and reschedule for install. That seems to be the difference of a small country store and a big city super store. Super store geared to sell while little dealer geared to keep the customers they have.

Theres a very large Ford dealer 2 miles from me. Regardless of what you want done, you have at least a week before they will look at it.

I asked if they could put me in cue and I could bring the night before, they said no we dont do that.

So I drive about 25 miles to an inner city dealers and can generally, wait.

It seems your Ford Dealer is carrying a Ham on his back. Plenty of Work to do, little time to do it.
My dealer is Phil Long Ford of Denver. They treat me like i own the place.
I call first to set up a time to get the work done. If's is minor I can usually pop in and have it done and wait for it.
Sometimes you have to wait a little longer than you wish.
Whether it takes one day or two they ask me what New Car I want to drive. I took my 2015 Platinum back for a Spray in Bed Liner I asked and received a 2016 GT Mustang, Ruby Red 434 Horses. No problem. Just gave them a copy of my drivers License. Before that, My 2014 Lariat had to spen two days there. I told them I wanted a New Explorer to drive because I've never drove one before. It had 85 miles on it.
Not all Ford dealers are Created equal.
Just call first to make an appointment.
Being Friendly goes a long way these days.

If I owned a dealership my service manager would be fired if that was his approach to booking in work.

Not the same. One mechanic, working until he is satisfied with the job, versus a dealership that has multiple mechanics and is in business to service vehicles. It's their job to manage the queue.

At Brondes Ford in Toledo and Maumee, I make the appointment.
Take the car or truck in at the scheduled time.
Either get a free rental car or a ride home.
When the work is completed, they call, come pick me up if I did not get a rental.
The vehicle being worked on is also washed if I wish.

If I had to wait days for service, I would find another dealer that could provide timely repairs..... Nothing available in my area, I would be looking at different manufacturers.

Heck, everyone else is doing it. Shout out to Rivertown Ford in Columbus, GA.
Nothing but positive experiences with their service team the few times I've been there. Timely appointments and a very nice waiting area. They have loaner vehicles as well. After bringing in my wife's 2012 Fiesta for the jerky transmission twice, they offered a replacement. I ended up just trading it in though, haha

I *used* to get good service from my dealership. You would think after spending upwards of $390,000 with them over the years that one would still get good service, but recently they have been pretty bad. I take it in for an oil change and tire rotation on an appointment, not a walk in, and I wind up waiting 2 1/2 hours. I could have done that myself and enjoyed a few cold ones in the process. I get the truck back and it reeks of brake cleaner, it was so bad I could smell it in my house from the garage when I got home.

I complained, and was reassured would never happen again. Well, this is just an abbreviated version of the entire fiasco that my wife and I have gone through. We have been a regular customer there since 2003, and have been asked, have you been here before by the service guy.

So My next oil change I bring it in, mentioned that I still have 2 free oil changes left, they do the job in a timely fashion, and I still got charged for the oil change. Since it was a Saturday and I had things to do I paid and left, to be taken care of later. Two days later on my way home from work, a 60 mile one way trip mind you, I start hearing this grinding noise over the stereo. I was like, what is that? I turn the radio off, and I don't hear it, then I turn down a road and hear something, then it went away. I come to a stop and as I am stopping it comes back. It's raining out, I dont want to pull over into the grass and mud, so I will wait until I find a place I can pull over and look. As I drive down the road, I go around a left hand curve, and I hear it, this time it is loud, so I find a drive and pull over. I get out, thinking a wheel bearing is giving out, thats what it sounded like, so I walk around the front of the truc and check the wheels, they are fine, neither of them are hot like a bearing was going, and then I see it, hanging down under the truck, the shield under the transmission is hanging down scraping on the road. Did I mention it is raining? I wasn't about to crawl under it to remove it, so I drove home after taking a quick picture. I emailed it to my sales guy who passes it to the service manager, I get an email the next day saying they ordered the part and will contact me when it arrives. I respond OK and tell him I have a couple other issues I would like resolved as I was about a week away from passing the warranty. I get a response back that he will setup an appointment, and never heard from him again.

Two weeks later I get a phone call from someone at the dealer saying my part is in, come pick it up. I get a call the next day, and in a not so pleasant voice, your part is in, please come get it or we send it back.

So On the next Saturday, my wife happened to be heading that direction and I asked her to pick it up, I was done with them at this point. She goes in, and they were going to charger her for it!!!! Well, I'm done, they will never touch my truck again. If my wife wants to take her car in for oil changes, fine, but never the truck.

Oh wait it gets better!!!

I was looking at my tires a couple weeks ago, now remember, I have them rotated at 5K intervals by the dealer. I noticed that both drivers side tires have the exact same wear. OK Thats it, They are not getting ANY more service from me, my wife or my mom. If they can't properly rotate tires, you know, fronts straight back, cross rear to front for even and equal wear, then they shouldn't be working on them.

My mom had taken her MKS in to have the oil changed, and they told her she needed an alignment, rear caliper and brakes all around, for the tune of $800+. That was about a month or so ago. I said get a second opinion, I don't trust them anymore, so she did. Today she took the car to a dealer two towns over, they replace the one caliper, and told her the car didn't need an alignment. She left there to the tune of just a little over $200.

You would think that to keep a customer, you would know your customer, especially one who has been going there for 13 years and spent near $400K with them. They lost not one, but 3 customers, as I will never go back, nor will they ever get a recommendation, nor will my family ever go back there.

BubbaBud, I purchased mine from Jones Ford in Wickenburg. Great purchase experience, but far, far away b/c they're the only ones who had what I wanted.

Based on your location, I presume you go to the I-10 location?

It's more than 80 miles away, but maybe I'll give them a try.

I'm glad to hear from others that the experience I had isn't typical.

Now I just need to pray they can find the cause of the insane sluggishness when accelerating from a stop...

Thanks guys,

F1L

Have you tried recalibrating your go pedal? Turn the ignition on but dont start it. Slowly press the pedal down to the floor and release it quickly, turn off the ignition. Repeat 3 more times and then start it normally. Give it a try and see. Worked wonders on mine. I had a flat spot where I would press down and it would slowly accelerate, press a little more and nothing, then ZOOM, if I were turning it would light up the inner tire. Now I press it lightly and it goes like it should.
