new Ford guy and need help on handling a problem

Brantlyj, I really appreciate the post, I agree with you 100% on everything but a few points....
1. I feel that the value of the truck has been reduced because of the repair. Had I known I would have reduced my offer on it. With conditions they repair it to ford standards. As per the CPO requirements, but I also NOW know as anyone that reads this thread the CPO is a sticker on a turd and doesn't mean anything its still a used vehical and should be treated as such. Thank you and others for pointing that unfortunate part of this out. Lesson learned.
2. I am not upset of what I could have gotten as this truck is exactly what I wanted, I pushed my budget up as I felt I was getting a better value for my dollars with this truck vs the 2012 I was originally looking at. A new 2014 even if the salesmen showed me one would have been angry wife material had I jumped up another level on my budget.
So in the end, they will at least be repairing my truck. And that I am thankful. But it also goes to show that they know they did wrong or they would have told me to pound sand.
So I will report back here if anything changes.
Thanks to all who posted and I think I might stick around these forums if you all would allow it, gotta get a cool picture to put in the RED thread.

I'm going to be brutally honest here. CPO has 172 checks you said? Well that's what the deal checks. I'm sure they have whoever is low man on the pole just checking off boxes. Once they hit that last check they are done. They don't do 173. Really the only thing CPO gives you is an extended warranty. And it's not free, you pay for it. I had a dealer willing to take off $2000 and remove the CPO.
It's unfortunate that your state does not have declaration of damage. And Carfax is kind of a joke. Not every shop reports to it. In fact pretty much only dealers will report because I think they get cheaper rates if they do and so many people are fouled by Carfax reports it's a good selling tool.
What it comes down to, is yourself. It's your duty to inspect, inspect, inspect. The dealer isn't your friend. If they have a sheet of paper (carfax) that says no accident, that's what they will push. It's a joke that everyone says to lawyer up when in the end its kind of your own fault. I think you know that too. Probably dons't help that you realized after the fact that you could have gotten new for maybe a bit more?
It sounds like the dealer is trying to make things right by repairing it for you. Really I don't think you can ask for anything more. Just cause it was in an accident doesn't mean it's a bad truck. Would you have not bought it if you knew it had been repaired properly? If it's repaired properly in the end why would you automatically want to dump it.
My advise is to let the dealer fix it and enjoy your truck.

He's not asking for 173 points!! The Dealer failed/falsified Checks 23-30 (somewhere in there), where it says "Passed/Repaired/Replaced/NA", and the Dealer specifically told him that the truck had not been in an accident.
Even though his state may not have a law on this (mine does); the dealer misrepresented the vehicle and they are liable for it. You're not going to pay the same $$ for a damaged/repaired vehicle that you would for one that has never been in a wreck - ARE YOU?
Additionally, since if the dealer is now going to do the repairs, they may tag the title with those repairs.

Listen, ....if you got a smoking deal on this truck and Ford is going to obviously warrant it like it was new...then who cares! It's a used 14....and yeah Ford should have informed you that it was wrecked. That being said,...you've got to do your due diligence before purchasing. Sounds like Ford is looking into it. Just make sure everything is disclosed now that your digging. Enjoy the truck, or sell it and buy a new one. I'm surprised you couldn't get a ton off sticker on a new 14? :IMO:

Small update, went to drop the truck off today to have the body work done, after a short conversation they are going to allow me to return the truck and find something else.
So we will see today after work what my options are.

If I had to guess, the dealership either A) completely derp'd the inspection or "pencil whipped" the report together saying it met all the bazillion points of inspection ... or they B) tried to pull a fast one on a buyer hoping they would never notice the imperfections and just drive away happy with the vehicle - which obviously didn't happen here.
Otherwise, I can't see why they would have decided to give you (what it sounds like) a full refund and put that towards a new vehicle - or possibly eat some of the upgrade costs since it was their fault you drove away initially in a vehicle that was not as represented.
Can't wait to see what you end up driving away with this time.

So the final chapter in this saga,
Brand new 2014 XLT 4x4 supercrew ecoboost, (the CPO disaster truck was a 5.0) all the same options but the new one has the added bonus rear diff locker, that I actually wanted.
They knew they screwed up and I think I can say they made it right,
Thanks for all the suggestions on how to handle this.

Very cool. Basically, what you paid is just a hair more than the typical mark-up from the 5.0 V8 to the EcoBoost. But, you also got a brand new truck w/ 20K less miles, full warranty, and an embarrassed dealer who still has his tail tucked between his legs. LOL.
What color is the truck?
