Default New 5.0L FX2

It's been a week since I got my 2013 F-150 FX2 Superscrew (5.0L, 5.5' box, 400A package, 3.55 electronic locking rear diff). Only issue with the truck is that I haven't been able to take the grin off my face all week...

So far I've peeled off the FX2 stickers, installed plate covers and have ordered a tonneau pro tri fold, bedtread liner, OEM floor mats and Anzo LED turn signals.

One question I have is how long is the break-in period supposed to be for this motor? I'm averaging about 16L/100km (14.7 MPG) right now... but I expect that should get better after the motor is broken in.

I'm at 5000 miles and I'm stuck at 16.2 . I'm driving the same thing , a 2013 fx2 5.0.

After the first month with it. I was getting the 16 mpg after the first month with it.

Great looking truck! That was my second color choice

Welcome to the forum. Sharp truck. It took my 2012 5.0 about 7,000- 8,000 miles for my best average mileage, but i think it depends on how it was broke in also.

Welcome to the forum and might I say you have a sharp screw f-150 there.

The 2013 F-150 x-cab 2wd STX company truck I drive now with the 5.0 gets 22 mpg highway easy.
The dash says 23 but every time I fill the truck at the same pump, the same way and my real world numbers are always 1 mpg less than the computer/ dash numbers.
The truck has 3,000 miles now.

Love this truck.
Never thought I would see a full size truck ride so nice, have plenty of power, and get 22 mpg with the a/c on.

Well done Ford.

Nice! I have a 2011 FX2 5.0, love the truck! Mine always got about 15-16 city and 18-19 highway. But that all went to **** with I put bigger tires on it lost a couple MPG's, but total worth it cause it looks way better now.

Does yours have the Heated and A/C'd seats? When I got mine they only had the option of heated, and down here in South TX you would be way better off with A/C'd.

Jared26, I didn't get any heated/cooled seats. Up here in Canada I'm definitely on the opposite side of that need though!

Thanks for the mileage numbers guys. I'll post some more pics after I install the bed accessories and turn signals.
