The only complaint I have with my new F150 xlt is the Nerf Bars. they are mounted too close to the frame of the truck. Can't get enough of a foot hold on them while getting in or out of the truck. I end up stepping over and sliding in to the cab. My F250 steps are lower and out farther and actually work as a step. Any ideas?

 

It's a compromise. Any further out and you'd have folks complaining about snagging them on stuff, or worse yet, stepping through them and injuring themselves.

Scrap them and look for some aftermarket ones that suit you better.

 

thats one of the reasons i ended up selling mine. it was like tippy toeing on the OEM running boards. looking at amp research now. the OEMs looked nice but were a pain in the *****
