need your f150 knowledge
So im running out of patience with my 2004 f150. Ill try to make this short...in december 2010 new motor and tranny by jasper installed. since then ive had a ton of other parts replaced including exhaust, cat converters ( aftermarket ), o2 sensors, gibson cat back exhaust, throttle positioning sensor, computer reflashed, rear end redone, manifolds, all new cooling lines, pumps, battery, coil packs, spark plugs, fuel pump driver module, belt tensioner, and other things that i was either not charged for or just cant remember. Most work was done at Jasper certified garage. Basically ive put about $12,000 into this truck and it is still not running right. The truck doesnt seem to hav the power it should hav for having a brand new 5.4 v8 and tranny in it. The truck cant get out of its own way and the truck randomly shutters between gear shifts mainly between 1st and 2nd or 2nd and 3rd. It happens on normal acceleration off the line from a dead stop. It happens going through a turn and i gas it half way through a turn. Ive had it happen alot when accelerating up a fairly steep hill and it also happens often when in a scenario like breaking for a speed hump then gassing right after the hump. The mechanics at the garage are at a loss. They told me to take it to a dealer. I paid the dealer $100 last week for a diagnostic and they cant figure it out. The dealer said that it may be because the pipes on the aftermarket cat converters are small and causing the truck to run lean but this problem has been going on since long begore the cats were replaced. i cant see that the pipes would be too small if they are designed, marketed and sold specifically for my truck. I feel like everyone just wants me to keep throwing money at this truck and no results are coming out of it. Im at a loss and running out of patience and money. Any suggestions or knowledge any one might have would be appreciated i love my ford but gettin close to switchin truck brands... thanks.
it sounds like some sort of sensor issue, but you have a brand new engine and tranny put into it so that wouldnt make much sense....there should be new sensors on there unless they gave you the shaft and reused the sensors.
i went through this with an 04 colorado...it would shutter and cut out and do all sort of Michael Jackson dance moves...before i got tired of throwing money at it and traded it in on my Ford. Seems like 2004 was a bad year for all trucks. If its not throwing codes its kinda hard to tell whats wrong with it.

I dont think the mechanics would have stuck it to me on the sensors cause they are my girls cousins but then again who knows. i think maybe i will try to take it to another dealer and see what they say. Thanks for the suggestions. Im not much of mechanic so your input and ideas help.
