Default Need Opinion

I know the tire size thing is a beaten topic but I'm looking for opinions from real world F150 drivers I have a 07 F150 SCREW 4x4 I've been looking for new rubber to put on my truck after doing many forum searches I've narrowed my sizes down to theses at this point with the stock rims(hopefully I'll be getting new rims this spring) 305/65/18 - 275/70/18- 325/65/18 all these tires seem to be a "E" rated tire which from what I can gather is a 10 ply tire that holds 80 lbs of air and meant for 3/4 and 1 ton trucks ,with that said my brother in law use to own a tire shop and he seems to think this would be to much tire for my truck affecting the ride of the truck and the performance of the tire.I understand it's a truck and it's not suppose to ride like a Cadillac but is it that bad of a ride? I really don't feel like getting bounced all over the cab and as far as tire performance does it make that much of a difference?

I run BFG's when I buy a set to replace the OEM's. I go with a bigger and slightly more aggressive tread too, but I love the quality of the ride and longevity of the rubber.

I have tried yokohama and michelin and they both were like car tires and melted away to boot.

I would like to say though I do live in the desert, I drive on the agressive side, I drive alot (travel,4X4, etc). The BFG's are an E too I think.

Sorry. Rugged Trail 275/65/18 (31's basically). The ones I am looking at are the Mud Terrian LT305/60/18 E2 (33's i believe) or the 35X12.50/18 D2 . That is if I stay 18's when upgrade rims. I have had great experience with the mud terrains in the past..they are almost impossible to get flat.

Dunno yet though..still getting the money together for my new hood.

I'm runnin the same tires. Good tread life, handle's well and looks good. When I upgrade I'll be staying with the BFG's. Probabily the all terrians

Squirrely, I'd go with the 305x65x18's on the stock wheels and run them at 45psi. You only have to go to the max psi when loaded to the max. The 325x65x18 tires are too wide for a stock wheel and would probably rub like crazy with only a leveling kit. I run 315x70x17 BFG all terrains at 45psi and have 30k miles on them and look like they are only 1/3 worn. LT tires will ride a little rougher then P rated tires but are a lot stronger and more puncture resistant. Also they rate higher in the "look's" dept.!

I have decided on the 305x65x18 because I would not have to run them at 80lbs and if your saying I can get away with 45lbs with no problems CHA CHING they defiantly win! I like the BF's also but I guess no one else makes this size, so from what I see I have really no choice anyway

I was actually looking at those but what I was afraid of is they would be a loud ride and I think that would drive me nutz

The 35 D2's are loud but not too bad. My buddy has them on his Chevy....

I was probably going with the 33 E's because I don't want to do the whole lift/re-gear thing.

Good luck, let us know how it turns out.
