Hi everyone I'm Pete and I'm NOT mechanically inclined. I'm having a problem with my 2005 F150. My CEL came on a couple of weeks ago and I took it to a mechanic. The truck was running perfect and has 56K miles. The code that came up had him replacing intake manifold runner control actuator. He charged me $480. From the first moment I started that engine I knew something was amiss. It was idling rough (low) in drive. I took it back and he's put a lot of hours into trying to figure it out but can't come up with anything. Everything appears normal with the code reader. He said I could go to the dealership and reflash my computer. I called the dealership and they could do it for $95 but said it won't solve anything. Of course they want to look at and see what they can get out of me. So what is my next move? Should I try the reflash or just wait it out. I bought some fuel injector cleaner but haven't used it yet. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!!
