@Elkmtb The bump stops come with an adjustable bracket so you can set the length of it so it only engages at the right setting for your particular situation. 95% of the time they're not touching anything, but if you have a heavy load or hit a huge bump that would otherwise ram your tire into the wheel well they're there for protection. For everyday use, they're just there in the background not touching anything and don't affect ride quality at all.
