Ok I have a 2004 5.4 and I'm changin the fuel filter. I got the plastic conection but the 1 in the front is causin me trouble. I got the metal clip off around it but I can't get the matal conection off. How do you get this thing off? I'm scared of damaging the line or I would pry it off with a screwdriver. Thanks 4 any help

there's a special tool to use to take it off, 2 small flat screw drivers may work, slide 1 in each side of the fitting and it should release.

If the spring fingers inside the connection get bent you'll have hell getting it apart. You might try the largest connection tool that will fit inside the fitting.

I had one that I had to use a pick to get it out, needless to say the fingers were really bent out of shape when I was through. I did find replacement spring fingers at a Bumper to Bumper parts store,3 to a pack for under $5.00.
