Need help analyzing ABS light
I have a 2001 5.4L, 2wd. Last week the ABS light came on as I was pulling into a parking spot. The brakes buzzed like they do when the ABS is active. Then the light went off. Everything was fine for a day or so, then when I started the truck, the light came back on and stayed on for my 30 minute drive home. When I pulled into my garage, I shut down and restarted. The light came on (as usual when you start), then turned off. This morning it wasn't on when I drove to work but when I came to a normal stop, the brake pedal buzzed just as I came to a complete stop but no light. What the heck is going on?
Well, I found the problem. The left front ABS sensor was loose and about ready to fall out of the hub. Funny thing, I took my truck to my local Ford dealer a few weeks ago because they were offering a "free" multi point inspection. Anyway, I hate to say this but I am wondering if the Ford guys loosened up the ABS screw hoping to generate some business. I mean, the truck is 14 years old. Come on. Why would the screw all of a sudden come loose now? It's been fine for 14 years and all of a sudden it loosens up? That just doesn't make sense.

If you are the original owner and have never had any brake work done then I would agree they monkeyed with it, had a similar experience many moons ago with a Dodge truck I owned, got a coupon in the mail for a free oil change at local dealer and when I got home I saw trans fluid leaking.
Someone loosened one of the cooler lines just enough to create a leak
