Question Need Help

I have a 2016 F-150 Fx4, While driving on several occasions the transmission will jolt and it loses power. As this happens the gear display ie Park,Reverse,Neutral,Drive on the display starts flashing or goes blank and the truck loses power. My guess is electrical. Please help don't have much money and it's not under warranty

For starters -You need to go to Autozone (or other) and get the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) read, its free. Is the check engine light illuminated? DTCs can be present without check engine light.

The 4x4 code came on then went away and the check engine came on and went away. I originally I diagnosed it as the 4x4 shift module was going out because it is common but after unplugging it for a week it did the same thing. Next step is reading the trouble codes next. I appreciate it

I should have mentioned this in Post #2. When you go to an auto parts store and they provide you with a print-out of your DTCs it will also list possible causes for the DTC and the repair parts associated with that DTC. Report back to this forum with the DTCs before you start buying parts from that list, the auto parts companies want your money and will encourage to spend it.
DTCs are the first step and further analysis heads you in the right direction.
What engine do you have?

Default Ignition disconnected somewhere?

I have a 97 f150 5.4l and the key spins freely in the ignition. Not all the way around, but like 180 degrees. To where it would be if you were starting it. And with no resistance I mean nothing. It’s like the ignition is disconnected right where the tumbler is connected, I really don’t know. Any suggestions?
