Unhappy Mystery Problem

On my full size 1987 Bronco with a 5.0 engine, fuel isn't getting to the engine.
I checked the fuel pump, the starter, the clyinoid, the relays and they all work and there is no blockage in the line.

I don't know a whole lot about cars so now I'm out of idea's and now I'm just going in circles.

Please Help!

Might be a bad fuel pump. Have you try replacing it yet? Couple of people that I know had have similar problem. Hope this helps.

The fuel pump is new and works but I haven't checked the fuel filters, I didn't think that would keep the engine from turning over.

Want to help but am lost. 1987, is this fuel injected or a carburator? Is your problem the engine wont crank/turn over with the starter? Or it won't start? What exactly is the problem, its a little confusing.

Wink :)

Sorry for being so confusing, the problem was that the engine wouldn't turn over and it's fuel injected. But I figured it out, the knuckle heads who had the truck before be where trying to trick it out and in the process they cut some wire and put them back together wrong. After a little sawdering the engine started for a whole 2.5 mins not a long time but it's a subtle victory.

I think the fuel pump now just needs to build up pressure before it runs for real, I let a little air in trying to figure out what the problem was.

Theory of operation. The fuel pump will run 2-3 seconds as soon as key is turn to on. After the engine starts and oil pressure is achieved the PCM will then close the fuel pump relay and pump runs continuously untill shut down. The PCM has two circuits for the pump, one is the timed circuit 2-3 seconds on initial key on and then the continuous circuit for all the driving needs. Hope this helps.
