Default Mounting help?

Okay guys I just scored an awesome deal on a pair of diffused Rigid D2 diallys

Now comes to time to mount these jokers on the back of my truck.
In the pictures below you will see some of my options are either the rear shackle, The bolt that secures the rear bumper to the truck itself or attaching it directly to the hitch tubing. By going this route I would have to drill a small quarter inch tall so I can run the bolt through the hitch tube. There is a big huge sticker that says do not weld cut or drill into the hitch. so my question is will small quarter inch hole have any adverse affects? I'm thinking not but you never know.

Thefts of these lights has risen because of their popularity. Do you need to have light shining above your bumper other than your reverse lights? If not, Check out the "1000 ways to mount your lights" thread. That's not the exact title, but I'll link it in edit in a bit. People are tucking them up behind the bumper so you can't see them as easy, but still getting great light output from them.

Here you go. I guess it's 101 ways not 1000. Lol. This should give you some ideas.

Good thread Manuel. That mounting can be pulled off in a matter of seconds.

Thanks for the link buddy. I have read that thread before and going back to it and reading all 13 pages, it seems it's geared more towards mounting options in front of the truck. I think I saw may be a total of four or five post for mountain lights in the rear of the truck.

After looking at the situation again I'm 99% sure I'm going to go ahead and drill a small hole into the hitch tubing and mount the lights on each end of the hitch.

Security wise I will go ahead and put red Loctite on the main bolt that goes through the hitch. Apparently you need a torch to undo anything with red Loctite.
Your typical dirt bag is not going to be walking through parking lot with a torch in his hand looking for an LED light to steal lol

My main concern is the two Allen head screws that go into each side of the light to hold the bracket. Yes I guess I could put red Loctite on those also but my thing is do I really want to put a torch up to those small screws if I ever have to remove the lights for whatever reason. According to Loctite website the screws have to be heated to 550° That's a lot of freaking heat and I'm sure something will get damaged within the LED housing with that much heat.
So what do you guys recommend for those two small Allen screws?

Replace them with a screw that has an unusual head. Something most people wont carry the tool to undo them. Maybe torx or safety torx

I decided to mount them on the rear shackle. Obviously I had to drill a small hole because I did not want to mess with the existing hole as it was too tedious to get the bolts washers nuts between the shackle and Spring leaf.
Oh, and red lock tite on the bolt to deter theft

I didn't even think about that position. Be sure to get some night shots of the light output from there.
