Does anyone have any ideas for a golight mount? Something other than magnetic to the center of the roof? I was going to do a pillar light, and still may, but if I can get the golight to mount somewhere were it doesnt look too bad, ill get it. It needs to work with my trucks theme. And I dont want it to be a permanent mount.
Not sure about mounting, but might want to re-think the Golight option if it's the one I think it is. Plastic housed halogen light with remote control? The light works great out of the box, but they don't hold up well at all. The gears and motors for the gimbal burn out and break easily. They are also very easily damaged by water (rain, spray etc.) Had them as a standard item on a line of work boats in the Guard and we replaced them all the time (7 times in one year on one boat) because they would freeze up (gears and motors) and the circuitry would get fried by moisture.

Really? They are supposed to be designed to withstand the elements and be basically waterproof. Maybe the original unit had problems. Im getting the Stryker Model

Anyone have any other ideas? Ive been trying to figure out a removable mount that could attach near the pillar area on the truck. My light should be here in a few days.
If magnetic is my option im leaning towards this one. Its got a really strong magnet but it raises the light up 12 inches off the roof. And its only $2 more than the normal magnetic mount.
