MODS update & suggestions
2009 STX 4.6L Triton v8, cant find out how to determine if 2v or 3v. Just had exhaust installed-true dual flowmaster 40series. Very loud, sounds great, BUT GUZZLES GAS! Hoping a CAI & tuner will help MPG some on an econo tune, otherwise may pony up & pay again for SIDO. Been pointed multiple times to K&N intake so that's what Im going w/, however I keep getting varied info on tuners. SCT X4 comes w 5 custom tunes, will increase HP by roughly 15HP, & MPG by 1 or 2mpg, & can go back to stock (per MIKE at SCT who emailed me on a Sat showing great cust service). "Diablosport inTune comes w 3 programmed settings for 87,91,93 octane, so will add some HP & torque & economy" (per email from local motorsport shop), not sure on ability to return to stock. Looking for advice/suggestions on the advantages/disadvantages of these 2. I really want 1 tune for MAX HP/speed & 1 tune for MAX ECONOMY to help w/ gas when just putzing around town. Suggestion? Ideas? THNX
