Sorry to hear about your bad luck. I feel your pain with the focus deal. You can't get in and out of one of those when you are climbing in and out of a F150. Hopefully they will find the cause soon.

I feel your pain. I wrecked my truck last spring and was without it for 3 months. Felt like some of the longest months of my life, continually going down to the shop to check progress only to see none being made. The day I got her back was one of the happiest days I had had in a very long time.

Default just a update on missing oil

well it looks like they are going to have a little while longer, spoke with service manager yesterday and she said it looks like they are going to have to pull the heads and replace the mech noticed there was a lot of play in the valves (hum maybe this had something to do with my pinging issue) she also said something about the cylinder walls she is not ruling out engine replacement. Hope it gets corrected soon missing my truck

I feel ya, I had my truck in the shop for 2 1/2 weeks because of the same issue. I thought I was leaking oil somewhere, but there was no puddles or anything under the car. Turns out it was burning it quickly and they also had to replace the oil pan since that was starting to crack. At the time i didnt have my SHO but they gave me a rental and it sucked, it was a 05 focus (very small car for a guy whos 6'2) granted it was a 5spd and i made sure i worked it lol.

Squirley, was there any noises associated with these loose valves? These new generation engines are intrigueing but also confusing.

early on in my ownership of my truck at around 7,000 miles I started hearing what I was calling a ping brought to dealership and they claimed they couldn't hear anything they told me these trucks are noted for loud injectors maybe thats what I was hearing and nothing could be done around the 4th visit I mentioned it again and this time they told me they did a pcm update and this did seem to calm the noise. Now with this finding it makes me wonder if it was the valves all along. I did mention my thought on this to the service manger and she said maybe. I guess I'll find out when I get her back
