I got an 07 lariet about a month ago and it only came with 1 key. To make it worse the one key doesn't work the tailgate. Can i get a blank off of ebay and have it cut? I obviously want this done as cheaply as possible. I assume there is a chip inside i wil need to program. I wonder if a locksmith can get me set up with a key that will work the tailgate? Any info would be great.

The fact the key doesn't work with the tailgate says that the tailgate was probably at one time stolen. Unfortunately, Ford keys are chipped and there is really not an easy way to get new chipped keys. Last time I checked, a new key cost $80...which is BS considering I had 3 keys made two years ago by Ford for $15 a key, $35 for the reprogramming.
