Mirrors
Hey all, I just bought a 2013 F150 2 weeks ago. I'm sure this is the first of many questions about it, but I'll do everyone a favor and keep separate questions in separate posts. My truck is a pretty loaded FX4 and has the standard power fold mirrors with the turn signals on them. I'd like to change them to tow mirrors, as the truck has a 6 inch lift and 35 inch tires, I think the tow mirrors would look much better. Are there tow mirrors with the same functions as my current ones? Is this a simple plug and play upgrade? Can anyone provide me with a link to some mirrors that would be what I'm looking for? All I've found so far are either power folding without turn signals or manual folding with turn signals. Thanks in advance

Like these. They have some with different caps (chrome and paint to match)

PLEASE watch the video on these mirrors before you purchase as they are not simple plug and play on all F150's. To watch the video, go to the page listed above and scroll through the views till you get to the video.
On some f150's, the light on the side of the mirror will work only when the door is opened, like a puddle light, but if you want it to function as a directional, some wiring will need to be done.
Also, do you know what F150s they aren't plug and play for? Are you just talking about wiring the power fold if you don't already have it? I ask because I've been looking at adding them to my truck.

Have a 2013 also and I purchased a set of the A1 tow mirrors also. NOT power fold but heated, powered, puddle lights, etc.
Only "hitch" with them was the quality of the LED for directionals was not as good as factory. On drivers side side only 5 of the 6 LED's worked and on the pass side only 4 of the 6 worked. Minor but bothersome nonetheless. Inquiry brought no reply.
Fortunately had a friend with similar truck equipped with OEM tow mirrors that he was selling. Swapped with him and installed the OEM's.
Tow mirrors are great. Only drawback is the do create additional wind noise inside the cab. Not overly noisy but noticeable nonetheless. They're like a couple of mini-barn doors out there in the wind.

There are 2 separate lights on the side of the mirror. Everything I've read says one is a turn signal and one acts like the puddle light. The extra wiring since people are doing is to make the puddle light a marker light (so it's always on when lights are on)

Please watch the video... They say in the video that it is a single light and on some F150's, and they do not specify which, the light will be a puddle light and if a directional or marker is desired, then some wiring will need to be done.. I am only repeating what they tell you in the video about those mirrors.
