Default in the market for a halfon..

Not sure what brand to go with, was looking for advice from people that have owned different brands.

Looking between Tundra, F150, and Ram. Pretty set on used. The 2015 is making it interesting and wonder if i should wait and consider a new one

what is a halfon?... If you mean halfton and you came to a Ford forum to ask this question then I think you know your answer that most will give...... If you want an unbias answer you probably shouldn't ask in a brand specific forum.

actually I have looked at the Nissan Titan, Toyota Tundra, and Dodge Ram. I think that they are all comparable and that it really comes down to personal preferences. However, the Tundra and Titan of all the trucks have the worst fuel mileage. Other than that the pulling power, and bells and whistles and other features match up very close.

It is a question that will get you biased answers on each of the forums. Best thing to do is drive them all, then get the one that makes you smile the biggest. They all have their pros and cons, except for the F-150 of course.

Good luck.

Sorry for the vague post. I was trying to post this while at work and of course someone interrupted me.

I know this is a f150 site.. But, I'm sure people can be honest.... I would be.. For example some may have had experience owning fifteenth makes.

I noticed money won't buy much in terms low mileage nicely optioned f150 but you can get some nice rams or tundras for the money.. Which is frustrating.

I've had too many bad experiences with Dodge and their powertrain to give an unbiased answer. I know my Aunt's Yota runs pretty good. Her mileage isn't too bad, but she doesn't hotrod it or tow anything with it.

I like my current F150. It does everything I need it to do. Carries the family, hauls my trailer, and lets me have a little fun when I turn AdvancTrac off. Lol. If you are looking for a used F150 I would recommend the 4.6L V8's as they are pretty good with a tune, and they "seem" to have less problems across the board. The 5.4's have the cam phaser issue which I'm sure you read about, but if they are fixed correctly they are a beast. Not too whippy on mileage though.

It really depends on what you want and need your truck to do. Ford's have the most room in their cabs with a more comfortable ride. (At least to me) All 3 of them have their different levels of "bells and whistles", so you would just have to drive each one and then decide which one you like best.

I'm in the same boat as you, but I will be buying a 2015 f150 in the fall. I test drove the 2013 ram 1500 sport, 2014 chevy z71 LT 5.3, 2013 f150 xlt ecoboost & 5.0. All of them crew cabs and same length bed. The ram had a very nice interior, but the I didn't like the hump in the back on the floor or the handling. Also the power seemed weak but that might of been because of the gears ratio. Price was around $48,000

I actually really like the looks of the new chevy inside and out. The interior was nice and simple, had a big LCD screen, the bumper steps are helpful too. The ride and handling was also good, but the transmission shifted hard and the seats were very uncomfortable. It average 17 mpg on the highway during heavy winds and I was going about 70 mph. Price was around $44,000.

I drove the f150 on the same route as the chevy. The handling, ride, suspension, Acceleration, visibility were all better than both the chevy and ram. Also had tons of room in the back seats, and the seats were really comfortable. But the interior looks kinda out dated and had some cheaper materials. Average 16.1 mpg hwy with the ecoboost during heavy winds going 70 mph. Price around $44,000

Ive never heard anything good about a Titan, not even from Titan owners.

One of my good friends has a 2010 Tundra and while the interior looks like it belongs in a '94 Corolla its a good truck. Way more power than my truck has.

I haven't cared for the looks of the F150's since '08.

Chevy's have good motors, that's all I know about those.

I like the looks of the Dodge the best. Im not sure how good they are but my brother just picked up a '14 last week.

Having both a F150 and Silverado, they both function pretty similarly. The flat floor of the F150 is nice for hauling stuff and the Ford shifts smoother. Basically it comes down to what truck you can afford.
