Default Map and cargo light frustration

The map and cargo lights on my 2008 F-150 continue to come on at random. I replaced the light switch with no change. The only way to get them to go off driving down the road is to strike the dash on either side of the gauge panal. I assume it is a loose conection in the dash since a bump in hte road will turn them on/off at any time. Where do I look for that loose wire?

You need to take off the bezel around the dash, and you can see the instrument cluster. There are 2 connectors on top, I'd start there. I would take them off, clean it with electrical contact cleaner, and re-seat.

See if that helps first.

Thanks. I'll give it a try.

When these lights come on, does the Door Ajar light come on as well? If it does, then one of the door switches is on its way out, most likely the drivers door switch.
