Default manual transmissions

what is the transmissions in a manual 99 ford f150 i need to find out anything i can about it if anyone know anything i was want to know if i can sawp it out from a mustang out somthing i can do for better to get the power to the ground

a different transmission isnt going to make your truck faster. You should swap gears in the rearend if youre looking for a little off the line performance.
You could also do some mods on the motor but thats a lot more expensive than a gear swap.

I know when going from 2.73's to 4.10's in my Mustang that was probably the single biggest thing that made the car feel faster.

thank you im going to swap the rear-gears to 3.73 but my trans is going soon and i was think i can maybe us a t-5 from a mustang or something also sorry i know i cant type very well but i try haha

A t5 wont bolt up to a 4.6.

m50D, honestly why though? I feel that mine puts plenty of power to the ground, it will squelch the tires when commanded to. It's a truck, not a sports car.

it not a 4.6, it a 4.2 v6. im trying to build a drifting truck, from a long bed. i just want too know if anyone would know of a tranny i can us? what the 5speed they put in the v6 99 ford f150

I am going to leave the whole concept of the drifting long bed for others to comment on but to do what you would like stick some 4.56ish gears in the rear end with a hand brake for the e-brake and voila, drifting long bed...

can i go a per 1996 f150 tranny in to a 97-03 f150 tranny if that make any sines
