Default Lug patten

As a first time truck owner (finally!) I keep learning new things. I have a 2016 F 150 XLT supercrew. Right now it has stock 17 inch wheels with 6 lugs. I've been researching new wheels and it seems that not all 6 lug wheels fit the same trucks? How do I know my lug measurements to know what to look for? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help with this novice question.

You need wheels w/ 6X135 mm lug pattern.

The 135 mm is the center diameter of the lugs.
If you drew a circle through the center of the lugs, the circle would measure 135 mm.
The standard F150's from 2004 (new model) through 2017 all have the 6 X 135 mm pattern.

Measured from the center of one lug directly across the wheel to the one on the opposite side is where the measurement is taken.

Great replies from the veteran members to your question. What I can tell you is the Ford lug nuts suck. I can't find the correct size socket to fit it. Then I was told by a parts tec at the ford dealer Ford has a lug nut 'issue'. He said one entire line of their cars the outter shell of the lug separates. He said mine were swollen that's why the correct lug socket would not fit. Unbelievable really.

I've replaced them on both my Fusion and F150 with aftermarket. Go aftermarket sooner rather than later. I had to pound sockets on with a hammer when I rotated my fusion wheels, and hated putting that nut back on. Ordered new ones instantly after that scenario.
