Default LT Grab Handle

What was the Last Year Ford installed a Drivers Side (LT) grab handle on the (A) pillar on F150's. Our 13' doesn't have one and it's beginning to be a pet Peeve with my Wife. I'm just tossing around possible/potential answers. Thank's, Steve

I believe 2008 was, but I don't think it would work on your truck because you have tweeters.

This is correct. I have them on my 05 and whenever I drive my friends 11 I feel so lost when I grab for it and nothing is there. Lol

The Tweeters I didn't consider. But that being said, does anyone know if the Pillars would interchangeable....or...by simple modifications.? I'm sure adding the Tweeters can't be to difficult. Thanks again, Steve

There are SEVERAL threads on the topic in the 2009 - Present Ford F150 forum. For details ...

Reader's Digest cliff notes ...
  • probably (?) decontented as a co$t savings. *Every litter bit helps.
    .
  • A'pillar air curtain excuse may be ruled-out since ...
    .
    • RH (passenger) has a grab handle. *And YES, the passenger is protected by an A'pillar air curtain.
      .
    • same year SuperDuty/F-250 has the same A'pillar air curtain design and it HAS a LH (driver) grab handle.
    .
  • possible mod' candidates could include ...
    .
    • 2008 F-150 A'pillar trim/grab handle.
      .
    • 2009+ SuperDuty/F-250 A'pillar trim/grab handle.
    .
  • adding one could (?) be a chore.
    .
    • addition of braces/brackets to bolt/secure.
      .
    • air curtain interference.

Presumably Ford makes these components in RH drive versions of the F150. So, the stock items for the passenger side of those vehicles should install on our trucks. I want one!

Have you considered a ladder with a handrail, and a personal valet?
