Default Loud Switch

Anyone ever heard of someone doing a selective bypass of the muffler on an exhaust? Such as, flip a switch and exhaust is directed through a straight pipe around the muffler to make it super loud when you want it to be loud and flip the switch back to keep exhaust through the muffler for the regular exhaust for long trips, ect. I saw that Hennessey Performance did that on their VelociRaptor Raptor upgrade and called it a "loud switch". Has anyone done this on their own truck or heard of it on other F150s such as the 04-08 body style?

you can purchase electric cutouts for any vehicle... and exhaust shop will weld/bolt them into your exhaust and run a switch into your console or somewhere.. prob run you around 500ish installed
brands like Noweeds and QTP

If you're vehicle runs better with free-er flowing exhaust, then it won't be as efficient with a blockage.

Yeah its has a pretty decent effect when running wide open. On my boat I have thru haul exhaust, so when I open her up and let her breath you notice a performance increase as opposed pushing the exhaust thru a small opening in the transcom. Its very loud thou and you can't hear what anyone is saying, so I run it quiet mode unless I want to turn heads at the docks. In and out of the launch is where most people run them but it not for performance, its for the bikini's! LOL

The two companies that I know of that make them for boats are Corsa and Hardin Marine. Now your not going to use a boat setup on your truck but at least your pointed in the right direction. The soloniods are same for both car's and trucks I believe so at least you can get that with the electrical stuff at either company. One is electric and the other is a vacuum system. You might ask why go with an old vacuum type system, well in a boat or in any confined small space that is sealed, vacuum is much better than electric.
