Nah it's all good, it was a great learning experience! I still love how that truck looks though! There's just something about those 38x15.50 Mud grapps that get to me

Well having 38x15.50s and expensive rims and a nicely done 6' lift with a 3' body yes it might be somewhat near that price range, but definitely not in the condition he had his in

I guess I was thinking you'd be better off finding an '04 Lariat in great condition with the 120k miles for around 10 or 11K. That's with no mods. Then spend your other 7 or 8k in a lift and wheels/tires. At least then you know that it's done right.

EDIT: Grammar and stuff.

I had a budget of 18k and I couldn't find a lariat with 4wd, leather, 4 door, etc in the price range I needed, I wanted at least $6,000 to do on upgrades but all the lariats I saw with all the packages were around 14-15k. I found a lifted lariat with all the packages and 55k miles for 18k and I couldn't pass that offer, thing is spotless, definitely a one and a million find

You will be better off and be happier if you spend your $ on a stock or slightly modified F150. As you found out, many people that lift or modify their vehicles don't have the slightest clue what they are doing.

Would you rather have a stockish F150 that you can drive, or one that looks good but is parked in your driveway because its busted and you can't drive it? I know which I'd pick.

Another question, will this be your DD or a fun vehicle? If it is your DD you may want to rethink your wants......

I guess I just found the perfect one, drives like a dream for a 6inch lift on it, any higher and I know problems would start showing up. But if I had to choose between a stock f150 and a huge lifted one, I'd choose the stock for sure. And the truck I drive now is both surprisingly, gas is cheap enough where I can afford to have it as a daily driver

Don't count on gas staying this cheap forever.... Make sure you have enough money left in your budget for when gas is $3-4 per gallon....
