Default limited slip question

alright this might sound stupid but is the limited slip in these trucks really a limited slip. and by my understanding LS is similar to a locker correct...one wheel spins then the other kicks in. the reason i ask is b/c i have the 9.75 rear end with 3.55 gears and LS and about a month ago i had my diff serviced and i told the guy (ken towerys) that it was a LS but they didnt add any of the friction stuff or whatever its called. do these trucks not require any of that stuff. i was just wondering cause there is a vibration i can here and feel sometimes coming from the rear somewhere when turning and was wondering if this could cause that.

sounds like the clutches are chattering. the should be a tag on the diff cover that tells you to use additive, at least mine does.

yeah i know about the tag but its hard as hell to read. they actually had the friction stuff sitting there ready to go in then i noticed the guy didnt put it in so i asked why and he said it didnt call for it but i reminded him it was LS but he said the computer said no. when the clutch chatters is it all the time thing or every now and then

If your axle is ls you need to have one bottle of the ls modifier added.

im 100% sure...the axle code for my truck is H9 and last time i checked that means 3.55 gears LS. if ken towerys f***ed up b/c they didnt add that stuff and the result is something vibrating in the rear i am going to own their ***.

Yep that's the same rear I had in my 02. You need friction modifier in it.

Yes. The modifier allows the rear to slip so this doesn't happen.

You'll probably be fine after the stuff gets added.
