Default Leveled Trucks

I see a lot of people leveling out their trucks. What is the advantage to doing this? Does it affect the ride or anything else. Thanks

Looks and ability to add larger tires.

It will, but that's not why people are doing it.

Looks...

Technically it pulls the truck slightly out of factory geometry

definitely for looks. I haven't noticed any drop in MPG or ride quality. Obviously, you'll have to have an alignment done.

A lot of folks upsize the wheels and/or tires at the same time and that will change the ride quality and MPGs.

I think the biggest disadvantage of leveling is loaded performance, when hauling something heavy or towing a trailer. The factory 3" or so of rake is meant to give some so that it's not squatting when loaded. a Level will take that out. It's a good idea to add airbags or something similar to control the rear-sag while loaded.

Of course it does...your adding a spacer on top of the strut and cramming it back in there.

Every time I see one of those I'm tempted to give the driver $5 and tell him it is to help him pay for the rest of his lift.

Lots of members like to mod their trucks. Leveling and adding larger and more aggressive tires usually makes the biggest difference in the trucks looks. Towing anything over 5K pounds its probably best to leave the truck at stock height. I leveled my truck with the Bilstein shocks and it handles and rides great.

If I wanted a lift, I would've gotten a lift. But thanks for the five bucks.

Biased much? But I'll take your 5 dollars anyways, BK has some pretty good menu choices
