Default Latest System Update NAV

I use the Ford NAV system. The latest update now gives only three options. Tone Only, Voice Only, or Voice and Tone. I want nothing! The voice is annoying and the tone just beeps constantly. Any work arounds I've missed?

use WAZE through Android Auto, it's 1000% better than the Ford Nav system and it's free...IMO

I understand how annoying those prompts can be, especially after the latest update. Ford removed the full “off” option, so that’s why you’re stuck with the three choices. One workaround is to set Tone Only and then turn the navigation volume all the way down using the steering wheel while a tone is playing. That usually makes it silent. Another option is to use CarPlay or Android Auto since those let you fully disable prompts. Hopefully Ford brings back the old setting in a future update.

Why can't/don't you turn the volume down to zero?

Doesn't that kill the regular audio sound also?

As the Naigation Sytem voice is giving verbal instructions, turn the volume down. It takes a bit of fineness because some voice instructions are short. It only affects the Navigation voice level. You might want to try adjusting the voice volume up/down to get the hang of it. As the Navigation voice stops your normal radio volume setting resumes. Because the radio may be on all of the time, radio volume is easy to readjust.
