Default Late 80'-Early 90's F150

Hello,
I am in the market for a new/old truck. My first truck was 85 F150, family hand me down. It ran great. I drove up and down the east coast, off road etc.. At about 215k the transmission went, my old man got rid of it.
Fast forward 10 years and I want to buy something from the 87-94 range. I was wondering if the truck is well maintained if upwards towards 180k miles, is getting a little high or if that is nothing. Is there any year that was better than another. I know they changed the body style a few times. I am looking more for mechanical stuff.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Some of the most bullet proof trucks ever made, not huge performers but they last. 180 is high for any vehicle, ive seen plenty of older fords go into 300k+ miles, realistically the first thing to go would be a transmission. The 5.0 & 5.8 and 7.3 all last a longggg time if proper maintenance is done. I don't thing 180k is too bad for one of those but keep in mind you are buying an older vehicle with alot of miles so parts do wear out and you never know what or when it'll happen, so just keep that in mind

A 96 is last year of that body style and has the added benefit of obdii. When you start talking 20 or so years old full diagnistics is nice to have. Also 92 or 93 starts with the 4r70w auto trans that is very reliable unit. Food for thought!
