latch for getting behind the seat

Default latch for getting behind the seat

i have a 2002 f-150 and i cant get behind the seat unless both latches are pushed up does anyone know how to fix this problem

bench? split bench?
my split bench has a tiny little lever on the back bottom near the hinge that lets it fold forwards so that the head rest hits the dash

i have a bench seat and its just a standard work truck no back seat

I used to have an F100, regular cab, with a bench seat and I can't remember if both latches moved together, or not. I certainly didn't have to move both latches, meaning someone on each side of the truck. Have you checked to see if there was some sort of connecting rod that tied the latches together?
