Default lame.

alright. my girlfriend owns a '95 exploder sport 4wd. well heres my problem....

the other day we went swimmin out at the creek and when we went to get in and turn it on, it wouldnt start. it would turn over perfectly fine, but wouldnt stay running. if i BARELY tapped the gas, and i mean BARELY, it would idle at about 400 - 500 for a couple seconds, and then turn off, and after awhile it wouldnt even do that. ended up towing it home. but the thing is, it drove out there just fine like it always drives.

at first i thought it was a bad injector or something along those lines is making it run in safe mode, but usually safe mode allows you do limp it home/dealer/whereever, doesnt it? but could it be as something as simple as a blown fuse? who knows? i was just wondering what everyone (and by everyone i mean people that actually work on their stuff and know something about vehicles) thought it might be.

ps. im getting paid for this, so ANY advice at all would be appreciatted.

Yes,fuel pressure would be the first thing to check, then see if there are any codes stored in the computer.

she has an exploder.... you got a bronco thing.... eheheheh run over her exploder thing and have her get a f150 thing... lol

but seriously i am not a mechanic but i agree with the others that check pressure at the fuel filter... you will need to release the pressure if you wanna do it the right way or just take the hose off the fuel filter and let it relase that way.. but then gas goes every where... they make a gauge that you put inline after you disconnet the filter... after it is attached i am not sure if you can just turn key on and the pump will give you proper pressure or if you have to turn motor over...
