Default Keyless Entry

The 2012 f-150 truck I bought did not have keyless entry. I am a little leery of non-factory installations. Has anyone had any experience with this?

So you do not have power locks or windows? I am currently looking at adding at least power locks with keyless entry. If I do I want a quality kit. Good warranty also. I've been researching online. It looks like to me that A1 Electric and Electriclife offer good quality kits. The MES style are Swiss made and are suppose to be their best. A local shop here wants $685 to install power locks and windows with keyless entry with control switches.Prices online vary from $50-300 per kit. From what I understand our newer trucks have the rod style locks instead of the cable style. Maybe someone else can chime in on this to help us. If you can do it yourself you could save quite a bit.

order a keypad from a dealer or find one in a junkyard, then put it on. If you have power doors and such with the key fob already, you already have the code and everything set up ready to go.

Go to Tascaparts.com and type this number in the part search - 7L2Z-14A626-BA

I think it comes out to about $75 bucks shipped.

Sorry I misunderstood you. I seen some aftermarket ones but, I don't know how reliable they would be either.
