A hobby toy always needs a backup.

I did the same with my old Jeep XJ, tricked it out at my leisure whenever the money was available to do so.
The absolute right decision for me.
But at that time i had 3 other vehicles as backup.

Only you can make the ultimate decision.
I definitely wouldn't trade it in. The only thing I use the truck for at this point is hauling the quad, trash, and picking up building materials which is why it only sees 3000 miles a year at best. I don't exactly need two trucks, I've got other vehicles to drive. I'm thinking at this point it really doesn't make much sense to buy the 2018 if it still is only gonna see 3000 miles a year, plus get a bunch of stuff done to it. Also, they are still depreciating in price too.
