Default K&N Air Filter 5.0

Have 2011 for F-150 4x4 Platinum 5.0 can someone please tell me the benefit of having the K&N air filter?

Usually not much is gained from using them. But if not oiled properly they can mess up a Mass air sensor quickly.

I put one in mine but its a '04 5.4, I got 1mpg better with zero other mods. Cleaning and re-oiling is simple, you really gotta go crazy to over oil one of them. I've been using them for about 10 years and have never had an oil problem, or any others for that matter. I will put one in every vehicle I own.
I also tried those dry filters from AEM, with the full brute force intake, hated it. Just didn't feel right so I switched to the K&N again.

They're great when used in conjunction with things such as an aftermarket exhaust, headers, turbo, or supercharger. But they never hurt, are cheap, and are fun to install.
