Default introduction

sorry, i forgot to introduce myself when i came on to the site, but im TJ from BC, canada....already people have helped me fix my truck without any intro, so i figured it would be appropriate for a proper introduction..... anyways, i was having tons of idle problems with my truck with it idleing at about 3000 rpm's, and then i changed the TPS and now it idles irraticly, any input on what it could be, PS. also changed the mass air

Need to check the readings from the TPS. Also where did you buy the parts?

i got the parts through a guy that does all the work on my 65 mustang for me (juwanda motorsports) hes very reputable and ive known him for a long time so if it might be a faulty part ill have no prob getting a replacement.....and how do i check the readings?

There are 3 wires on the TPS one is power in. One is signal out and the other is basically a ground. Need to figure out whichone is the signal wire. Attach a DVOM and check voltage on the signal wire. SLOWLY press the accel to the floor. The readings should go from approx .5 volt to approx 5 volt. IF the inital reading is a little higher say .8 thats ok. Make sure the throttle body is clean. Use a good 3m throttle body cleaner. Make sure that the idle air control motor is clean. Check the EGR Passages make sure they are open. Check the EGR itself. Make sure its not stuck open.
