Interesting Observation
Today is the day my truck went in for the IWE's, Cam Phaser's and a couple other little issues. Thank the Lord it's all warranty.
While waiting for the shuttle, I noticed the line of vehicles that were waiting to be checked in.
8 F-150's (mine made 9)
1 F-350 Dually
1 Explorer
There were more outside, but, it was cold (11*) so I didn't check them.
I asked the service writer if cars don't break down as much? He told me in Grand Junction, Co. (my town), they sell 3 times as many trucks as cars. He also said, "Today is a "truck heavy day, some days it's all cars."
I think the only reason I noticed, was because the F-350 dually was next to my F-150 long bed with a cap and tow mirrors. Wasn't much room to walk around them ... LOL. This is a fairly big "check in area", two lines and there can be 6 trucks in each line.
I just thought it was interesting. Of course, I'm retired and it doesn't take much to amuse me anymore.

Got a call from Ford, they fixed the IWE's and the small stuff. They also installed the electric brake controller.
As far as the Cam Phaser thingies, the last of the parts are supposed to be in a big shipment they got late today. They will know in the morning if they are actually there. If they are, it will be another two days, the Phasers are a 9 hour job.
If the rest of the parts are not there, they will close out the work order, I'll pick up the truck and as soon as they get the parts they will get me in "ASAP" to get that done.
Time will tell.

Update, Picked the truck up today. the cam phasers were not done since the parts they are missing still didn't come. Supposed to be here Friday now. They told me they would get me in within 5 business days of receiving the part, we'll see.
The IWE's got replaced, new solenoid, new check valve, new hub, new bearings and new hoses.
All the other liiutle things were done (Air cleaner, cab filter, and some sensor for the front passenger seat belt.
While it was in, I had them install the Electric brake controller.
The only negative was the hour and a half shuttle ride to pick it up. I was the first of 6 people being picked up. The other 5 were all over the valley. Two were in walkers so getting them into the Transit was a challenge. I was the only male and offered to help, but, was told I couldn't due to liability.
The big positive, I got to ride in the Transit front seat. If I get tired of the F-150, I'll be getting one of those. I really liked it.

If I had any issue with the service department, it would be the lack of coms with the customer. All work on my truck was completed the first day. I called a couple times the second day to see if the parts for the cam phasers were all in. Wasn't until 3:30 PM that I found out they weren't. So I was without the truck all day while no work was done.
The service department has gotten much better. Years ago, I quit driving Ford's because I got tired of taking them to Montrose for service ... LOL. There used to be a glaring difference in how Ford Customers were treated compared to the Toyota Customers. If you were Ford, you were treated like a lower citizen, but, lots of complaints to Ford corporate by many customers and that issue no longer exists, or at least I haven't seen it. The mentality there still seems to be, In at 7:30, Out by 5:00 and leave us alone in between.
This maybe the norm at dealers now a days. Up until I bought this truck I was using a local mechanic that I really trust. This truck has an ESP through Ford that's valid until 11/27/2025 and 100K miles, so, I will continue to use the dealer. The mentality of 7:30-5:00 really doesn't bother me that much since I'm retired. Heck, maybe they do that because it makes sense for people working.
Anyway, I do trust the dealer to perform the work correctly and without shortcuts. And bottom line, that's all that matters. I should also mention the parts department is awesome (supply chain issues aside).
