Default Installing air horns

has anyone done this? I have some air horns in my garage that came off a garbage truck or peterbilt or something, I would really like to put them on.
so if anyone's done this, could you give me some pics and/or tips on how to set it up? thanks!

First off do they need an air source?

My buddy put a LOUD one on his bright red F1 a few months ago. Half the time people pull over when he blows it because they think he is a fire truck or something since he has fireman stickers. It's quite funny.

I don't know the details on the install. I can get them from him if you need them, but he did have a clever idea for the compressor. Mounted it in the bed of the truck and cut the bottom of an ice chest out so it always looks like there an ice chest sitting back there instead of an ugly compressor.

my plans include a compressor mounted in the rear compartments behind the back seats in my 2002 supercrew, a 2 or 3 inch diameter black steel natural gas pipe air chamber running along my frame, an electric solenoid valve, and some air hose running to the horns under the hood. but other than that, I have no idea. all I need is the chamber, solonoid & compressor, and I have an Idea for the solenoid. if you wanted to ask your buddy where he got his compressor, and what kind of valve he used, that would be great!

EDIT: thank god for the great amazon.com!

i went to harbor freight and bought a 5 gallon portable tank and got a braided rubber hose from the hardware store, put the tank in the bed, horns behind the front bumper, my horns have a solenoid valve so i hooked up the wires and mounted a push button in the cab, i dont have a compressor yet but if i put 100 psi in the tank it will last 3-4 weeks depending how much i use them, used them all the time when i first got em, not so much anymore but when someone cuts me off, i let them know about it, lol

nice, the five gallon tank is a good idea! but with my supercrew, there's not a whole lot of bed space, and I still wanna be able to fit my dirt bike in the back so I'll probobly go with one of those little 12v compressors. I would really like to hook the solenoid up to the actual horn button on my steering wheel. the only problem is to open up a solenoid valve, you take away the electricity by flipping a switch, and with the horn, it's the opposite. so I'm kind of at a loss on how I would do that.

the tank is not that big, smaller than a 5 gallon bucket in size comparison still plenty of room to fit ur bike, in my garage under my profile is a picture of the button on the dash and i made the switch panel out of a chevy rear bumper laying around, the bed picture is before the horns but the tank just sits in the left corner out of the way

that's pretty cool! I think I'm gonna hide my compressor's toggle switch in the center console. and maybe I'll put the button for the horn between the radio and the driver's side vent in the center of the dash, on the little plastic collumn.
