I have a few questions why is the 5.4 such a ***** on fuel when idling????? I had the fuel mileage to. 13.7/100km I left it for around 5 minutes n it went up to 33/100km
Someone suggested a cold air intake to help this? Any thoughts

How recent was your last fill up or the last time you reset your dash computer?

If it was pretty recent (filled up and went straight home, let it idle the next morning) then the computer is probably correct as the metrics it's using: distance driven / fuel burned shows 0km / the fuel used. This information is then averaged. I'd bet that if you take it for a drive the numbers would level back out.

Besides, who cares what the computer says? Hand calculate it if you want an accurate fuel efficiency number.

Yep, the meter on my Navigator was off also. Just do it by hand.

Really?

If you didn't reset your computer the last time you filled up (or didn't fill up all the way) then you will have to go to the gas station and fill your tank until the pump clicks off the first time. Reset your trip meter. Drive around until your truck needs gas again, then fill all the way up until the pump clicks off for the first time.

Whip out a pencil and dived the kms shown on your trip computer by the amount of fuel you put in. The back of your gas receipt makes a good place to do this.
