Well

Take $300 and walk down the chrome aisle at AutoZone, grab everything they carry, apply it liberally

Agreed....but only downside is if you live in a cold-weather climate (we do...Wisconsin) the fluid stiffens in the cold and it takes forever for the tailgate to go down.

But for the price it is a great option.

Why not just leave it be? I see way too many of these trucks with gobs of chrome on them, which looks like a pimp mobile, and not a truck.

Remember too, the more weight you add to a truck, the poorer the mileage, and the lower the tow amount. To some, this may not be an issue, but for those who use their truck for what it is designed for, it does matter. Accessories such as larger tires add weight, and lower your total towing capacity, and will lower your fuel mileage.

For me, seeing a truck going down a highway pulling a camper or a trailer gets a thumbs up from me over any "flashey" truck with chrome add on goodies.
