Yes they are external, but they are a "little" bit more of a pain to replace compared to the engines of yesteryear.

If you've ever broken one of those notorious long bolts on an old 302 water pump, you'd consider the new 3.5 pump a walk in the park lol

We have a Mod Motor in our drag car now. Some things, like nitrous tunes (and what happened when you missed), I just want to forget.

Man don't remind me of those things. Still gives me nightmares lol. Last one I did was the 302 in my 97 Grand Marquis, all of those sob's snapped off.
