A quick search shows you can find any info you want to support your case. no offense intended just saying I could find a bunch of people praising Nav.

Maybe other vendor Nav systems but the Ford one sucks. I've had it several Fords and would never purchase it again. Heck most smart phones have a better FREE GPS/NAV app and that way you have nothing hanging off your window. I find I use my GPS a couple times a year. It spends most of its' time on my motorcycles because i'm out "trying" to get lost.

Plus with a portable unit you can move it from vehicle to vehicle or just used aforementioned smart phone. I Still have it in my 2012 Edge Sport and its beens used maybe a dozen times in a year and a half. My Garmin however I love and it has WAY more features than the stock GPS unit.

I have the 2011 NAV. I've used many garmins over the years as well. The Ford NAV system is MUCH better than any garmin I've ever used. It's also much better than the garmin OEM system in my wife's charger.

But to answer your original question, I have no idea!

Thanks to those of you who commented. A friend of mine bought a 2013 Lariat with the nav. He gave me a quick demo where I was impressed enough to re-think my desire to have it.

This may be a question for the dealer, but if I purchased an 2013 SDI card from a junkyard, could I simply install it in my truck and expect it to work?

Thanks in advance...

You won't be able to. I wish it were that simple but Ford has made it impossible so they make an extra $700 off of you...

I would go with the Garmin 3597 and the mount linked.

Default Android gets my choice

No need to mount it anywhere just place it where you want and use it.

It's too late... If you are wanting the GPS / NAV get an aftermarket unit. If you are wanting the looks of the built in NAV install a tablet.

Enjoy your new truck!
