Default I really really need you guys help ! URGENT !

Ok well I'm a Civil Engineer. I'm really short. 5'5 on a good day. And I really need a pickup truck. For numerous reason. I need one for my career as a Civil Engineer,to haul all my equipment in,for my fishing trips, and to tow my boat. But the thing is I'm really really short. And I think I won't be able to drive a full size pickup. I'm looking into getting a Ford F-150 FX4. Either a 2013 model or wait for the new "Atlas" generation to come out. I need help. This truck isn't a want it is a NEED. My career would benefit from it and my hobbies like hauling my dirtbikes and fishing gear. The problem is my height I'm around 5'4 and 5'5. I think I will have problems seeing over the dash of the truck. I really need this truck. Driving trucks is almost like a way of life in this part of Florida I live in.

Please don't say get a "compact truck". I currently drive one. A Ford Ranger. And its just can't get the job done with my needs. So do you guys have any advice ? Please help. I NEED this truck. Do you guys think I will be able to see over the dash ? Anyone can relate to me ? I know I'm short so please don't make fun of me,I have no control over my height. Thanks so much.

Only way to really know is go to a local dealership and sit in one and take it for a test drive.

My wife is just under 5' and drives my Fx2 with no problems. The power seat, extending steering wheel and adjustable peddles makes everything perfect for her.

BTW: Anyone who makes fun of someones height is just a douche with an inferiority complex who needs to try and justify some sense of self worth by looking down on others; at least that's the short of it.

O.K I'll stop.

With the range of adjustable seats, steering wheels and adjustable foot pedals available on todays trucks there is no reason you cant safely and confortably drive a full size pick up or a semi for that matter

Have the dealerships stopped offering test drives in your part of Florida? If not, then do what Franchi said!

Look in to getting the step up tailgate. I use that whenever I have to get up into the bed. If you are using a toolbox mounted behind the cab, the box steps are a real big help accessing the toolbox. Both are easy to use.

I'm 6'3" and use my tailgate step and stripper pole. The few that have snickered about it soon change their mind once they try it.

LOL. I'm 5'8" and drive a Raptor - can't get in the bed without it unless I roll in on the tailgate.

im with you there. my truck doesnt have it but one i worked with did and even at 6'2" its a great thing. but as was said, trucks are very size versitile since they are used from rugged work trucks to family cars and soccer mom vehicles as well. if you get the power pedals tilt wheel and power seat you will be more than comfortable in it. my wife is 5'8" and drives my 07 expedition el without problem.

Power seats, power pedals, power steering wheel. Enough said.
