Default I HATE my mirrors!!!!

2018 F-150 RCSB
I'm coming from a 2014 SC and all of a sudden I'm bumping into shopping carts, just missing parked cars!! WTF? This truck is a foot and a half shorter, the rear window is right at my face and I'm lost.
I've had a few regular cabs back in the 90's and I can't remember having problems with blind spots!!
These mirrors suck. They are square and weirdly shaped. Also the little blind spot thingy is annoying as hell.
I have already looked into getting new glass without the blind spot, but I'd like to find a different shaped mirror.
Ok enough ranting, is it possible to find an after market mirror that's different shaped? I can't seem to find anything other than the towing mirror??
Also what's with this pin crap? How do I know how many pins my mirror is??
Any help would be appreciated, thanks

You can either add tow mirrors or you can fit the 2021+ style. But the latter do not align correctly with the door and are a smaller mirror. There aren’t any other shaped aftermarket mirrors. They all have the oem shape and style.

I have tow mirrors but when I had the standard sized ones, I never had an issue. In fact, I liked them better than the standard sized ones on my old 2008, which are the same size and shape as the 09-14.

Note, I do have a super cab, but should make that much of a difference.

I hate the stock mirrors. I do a fair bit of towing so I had to change them to towing mirrors. Made a world of difference.

The number of pins is gonna depend on what options you have from the factory. (Power folding, heated, puddle lamps, etc...) You can pop off the interior cap, and unbolt the 2 or 3 nuts holding the mirror on and see what connector you have. Maybe there is an easier way amd someone else can chime in?

I went with the Boost tow mirrors on my truck. I think I'd go with tow mirrors even if I'm not towing as often. The amount of increased visibility is astounding.

I have a 2019 KRSC with the factory installed factory tow package. At night I can barely see the tail end of my 24ft bobtail trailer. As far as I am concerned my mirrors are completely useless. Backing up at night is pretty much wait till you hear glass breaking. Ford says good luck with that! I've checked 9 different dealers and all have said it is impossible to change those mirrors to anything that may actually work. I love my Ford but those mirrors just plain suck!!!

My XLT has those old fashion mirrors that you look at to see what's behind, no blind spot monitor.
Instead of one big mirror it has a small concave one in the top corner. It works great in seeing close up right beside the truck. IMO they work way better than the single glass with BSM. I drove my buddies fancy F150 the other day and noticed right away that it was more difficult to see around the truck.

How are you guys all adjusting your mirrors? To see the side of the truck in them or to barely overlap the rear view mirror?

How To Adjust Your Mirrors to Avoid Blind Spots (caranddriver.com)

Look at the different positions for the mirror and what they show. It's an adjustment but is absolutely the best way to have your mirrors.

2017 RCSB here and have 0 problems, actually like the standard mirrors. Maybe something to do with being only 5 1/2 feet tall, sitting position, and mirror angling. KM
