Unhappy I did it again!

Howdy friends,

Guess me and shopping carts and parking lots just don't get along because backing out this morning to go grab a biscuit I clipped the shopping cart corral. Wasn't too bad just enough to scare the fire out of me. I cracked the tail light on the driver side and now it won't come on, brake or turning. The corral is now leaning well into the lane the carts go so I wish whoever is trying to squeeze carts in there luck. I'm not being held for monitary damages but I've gotta get out there with a sledge hammer and see if I can straighten up those poles and get it standing up to where its not all whopper jawed.

Do you think that it was just the impact that loosened something up or do yall think its the bulb that busted with the impact? I could have skip take a look at it but he charges you an arm and a leg before you even tell him what's wrong. Hoping to do a little home repair if at all possible

Ed

I'd say the bulbs are a good place to start. Does not cost you anything to check. I can't see how it could be anything else really. The only thing there is the bulbs and the socket. good luck

Sorry to hear that. I for one do not know about wiring, but, it should not be hard to check and see of the bulbs are broken. With the tailgate down, you can unscrew the taillights with a phillips head and take out the bulbs housings one by one and check for damage.

Ordering new bulbs should be a breeze.

Good luck

the bulb probably cracked just like the tail light housing. You can get a new bulb but once its exposed to any moisture it will go out again, so you should probably fix the tail light first (buy a new one off of craigslist) and install it yourself. You'll probably have to buy a pair but its still cheaper than new from the dealer. If you need help replacing then pm me and i'll post pics of how to replace. Its really quite simple. best of luck

Guys like you shouldn't be allowed to drive

I would look into the bulbs, most likely that it broke during the impact, I've hit a deer before where the headlight was fine but the bulb broke so definitely look at the bulbs

If I were you, I would look for a whole new bed. The impact probably tweeked the sides to the point that the tailgate won't ever function properly.

I would also look into suing the store, the corral manufacturer and Ford. Go after the deep pockets.

If you need a witness, you may use the next posters name.
