All ford trucks shutoff ay 95. The funny thing is, is that they dont do this for your safety they do it so you dont blow up your engine. It is a liability to ford not to have a shutoff.because all vehicles have three year warranties get a engine tune and they can get rid of the auto shutoff

I believe the fuel shutoff kicks in to cause the stop of accelleration..And i think the 95 mph shutdown is corresponding to the speed rating of the tires the truck comes with when new.. A tuner will eliminate the top speed issue, but it's still a heavy truck that handles like one..play safe out there.

This, the rev limiter is to stop you from blowing up the engine.

Geez, sort of defeats the purpose of having a speedometer that goes to 120 mph.

I guess it's just a tease. But in all reality, I can't see a lot of reasons to be doing 95 mph in an almost 6000 lbs truck.

In my '10, how high is the engine actually revving when it reaches 95 mph? Can't be much more than 3500 - 4000 rpm, but I am just speculating. I know 60 mph is about 2000 rpm.
