HUGE Thud While Driving in 4WD Low...
#11
Wow! I really do not care how you drive your truck but if you are serious about not being stuck in some **** hole in the middle of no where than this is what you do...4 low full throttle. And yeah, my truck does more than get groceries and crawl along at some ridiculously low speed on some well groomed trail or up a boat launch...it goes where I want it to go, not where YOU want it to go.
Thanks for helping the poster there boys, well done. Not a single useful comment which probably stems from a total lack of experience in actually using your truck as a truck. Now then, go get your groceries and you better read your manual just in case your pushing it to hard.

I thought all our suggestions were helpful in suggesting that the speed was too high for 4L and thats why he had his issue.
As for suggesting that all of us are grocery carrying truck owners, yeah I am one of those along with also pulling my ranch trailer and my boat too.
I lean on the side of taking care of my equipment because I have other places and things to spend my money on like a boat, tractor maybe a new hunting rifle... instead of a new tranny or transfer case.

His post was edited, originally stated that he really thinks he needs to "exercise" the drivetrain by driving at high speeds in 4L, the statement was 60 MPH.

Thanks everyone for all your comments and advice. I was driving in snow, though not deep, 20-25mph. Guess that was too fast, lesson learned. Probably going to have it checked out just to be safe.

Found this in the owner's manual. Maybe AdvanceTrac disengaged the locker.
"The AdvanceTrac system has the ability to take over control of the
ELD and disable it during driving maneuvers when necessary."
