Default How would i do this?

I have a 2008 F150 XL and i wanted to put a westin 3 inch bull bar on it, but then i watched a couple videos and they all said to take out the tow hooks and slide the bars through there, but i don't have tow hooks. Not only that i watched a video where a guy cut the lower bumper to do it, but mine does not look like his at all. Does anybody know what i have to do or if i can even do it? Any advice is appreciated thanks

You cut out where the tow hooks would go if you had them. Some valences are a little different so base models trucks (XL for example) sometimes don't have the same valences.

A lot of my friends learned real quick that their light bars and bull bars that replaced their tow hooks didn't do them much good because they aren't structurally sound and if you try and recover from them you'll just rip the bull bar off or if you hit something it'll just fold back into the bumper.
