How remove rounded stripped mushroom bolt
#11
That part was easy compared to when I dropped my last sleeve down in the door bottom. 🤦♂️
I’m sure it’s aluminum, so I had to wrap a bunch of tape around my magnetic wand to fish it out. 😮💨

My uncle used to use fishing line. I don't know the details but somehow it worked for him.

Not when the torx bit and/or torx head of the bolt gets rounded. Thats why I suggest cracking them all loose while its still in good shape. THEN unscrew as you do the work. So to reiterate, after the bit became useless, and no new bit would work in the rounded bolt head, cutting the slots into the bolt head for a flathead was the answer. Of everything I tried, that was what worked.

Whichever kit you get, just make sure the sets have the cam cut for the latches. Maybe they don’t exist like that anymore, but when I was doing the fix, there were kits that you had to do work to make a sleeve fit in the latches.
