Going from Fresno to Reno and back (600 miles) on 1 tank of gas is what I did and that seems like a 'pretty valid' way to find out what my HW mileage is.

How many gallons did it take to fill the tank after that trip?

Going 600 miles on 1 tank is 'pretty meaningless' unless you know how many gallons it actually took to go that 600 miles.

600 miles / 20 gallons = 30 MPG
600 miles / 25 gallons = 24 MPG
600 miles / 30 gallons = 20 MPG
600 miles / 35 gallons = 17 MPG

Thanks for the super remedial information. I already said I have a 26 gallon tank. I filled up all the way right before I left on the trip but did not fill the tank all the way when I got back. But I was at 7 miles to E at that point. Drove faster on the way back which brought down my overall mileage for the trip to somewhere around 23mpg.

Okay then, I guess you did pretty good. I didn't mean to be a dick, it's just that when someone claims to get 25+ MPG with one of these trucks, I'm skeptical.

I'll know soon enough as I pick mine up tomorrow.

It surprised the hell out of me too, i really wasn't expecting it. When I got there I took a pic of my gauges showing 300 miles on the trip, with the gas needle slightly to the right of the middle mark. keep in mind i also have a UPR catch can (with the extension) which they say bumps up your mileage a bit, and the reg cab contributes too. But the biggest factor was me going up there at 65mph the whole way, making it take forever to get there. No A/C either.

About 3 weeks for me, 4 if I dont drive it on weekends. 36 gallon tank, 5.0 4x4. I Commute roughly 25 miles a day. Computer estimates about 680 miles/tank at fill up, which seems correct.
